Investigating - Starting at approximately 13:15 UTC on April 28th, 2016, we began to investigate reports that some cname alias customers may be receiving intermittent SERVFAIL errors when querying Alias zones. This issue should not impact Dyn Managed DNS resolution or zone propagation.

Update - Our engineers have adjusted system settings and code to improve request handling efficiency. This is intended to to prevent the large majority of HTTP 5xx error responses to REST API calls. Customers should see a decrease in error responses as a result. We are continuing to work on interim HTTP 500 responses for certain types of Send API requests and for report requests with invalid arguments. We expect those to be resolved in the next few days. If you are continuing to see HTTP error responses, or timeouts in general, please reach out to our Technical Support Team.

Identified - Beginning on April 11th, 2016, the Dyn Email Delivery Platform began experiencing intermittent performance degradation and API timeouts. Customers affected may notice delays in sending and timeouts when connecting to Dyn's send API. Our Engineers are currently investigating the issue and we will post updates as more information becomes available. We do not recommend that customers make any changes in response to this issue.

Identified - On February 16th, 2016, Dyn was made aware of CVE-2015-7547, a glibc getaddrinfo stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting certain systems. Our security team is currently reviewing systems that may be impacted by this exploit and are systematically addressing these systems as required. We do not recommend that customers make any changes in their configuration in response to this issue.

Update - As of January 22nd, 2016, our engineers have completed patching to the following services: Managed DNS, Standard, and Remote Access (Pro). At this time these services are all no longer vulnerable to logjam.

Update - Our engineers have completed patching the Dyn Managed DNS API against Logjam. Customers wishing to use the API will have to adhere to "Intermediate" cipher standards noted on THIS webpage. API users not utilizing an intermediate cipher (or better) will not be able to connect.

Identified - On May 20th, 2015, Dyn was made aware of CVE-2015-4000, a "man in the middle" type of TLS vulnerability currently affecting a large number of internet devices. Our security team is currently reviewing systems that may be impacted by this exploit and are systematically addressing these systems as required. We do not recommend that customers make any changes in their configuration in response to this issue.

Dyn Managed DNS Platform Update May 3, 18:30 - May 4, 19:30 UTC
On Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016, we will be updating the geolocation database used in our Traffic Director service. These updates will increase the accuracy of our services. Customers may see minor traffic fluctuations once the update is complete as routing adjusts to the updated geolocation database.

Monitoring - On March 14th, 2016, customers using our China nameservers began to experience delays with zone provisioning and updates. Our engineers are aware of the issue. Our partner has identified degraded performance on an international carrier in the region. This carrier is working on a resolution. We will post updates as they become available. If a zone transfer attempt fails, we recommend that customers attempt to transfer the zone again. We do not recommend that customers make any changes in their configuration in response to this event. This only affects our mainland China name servers, not our global Anycast network.
