Scheduled - IMPORTANT NOTICE regarding Dyn Managed DNS Anycast Points of Presence (POPs)

In our continuing commitment to provide the reliability and performance you expect from your Oracle Dyn Managed DNS service, we have been updating our Dyn infrastructure. While we aim to minimize impact to customers, the scope of this upgrade means that some impact is unavoidable. Please read the following statement closely as a major change is underway:

Starting Wednesday, January 19th, 2022: Oracle Dyn will begin migrating our Dyn edge nameservers to updated infrastructure. This change will be rolled out over two weeks and will include a change to our edge site locations. All Managed DNS customers may observe changes to query latency related to updated DNS query routing. Additionally, customers using our Traffic Manager service will observe some DNS traffic steering changes due to edge map changes.

Customers with questions regarding this maintenance are encouraged to reach out to our Dyn Technical Support Team.
Update - We are finalizing development of the new Dyn Update Client for Windows. This new client should resolve the current UAC errors. Please contact support for further questions.

Identified - Starting around July 19th 2021, some customers using the Dyn Updater Client with recently updated Windows systems began seeing frequent pop-ups warnings from the Windows User Account Control (UAC) feature. At this time, we have identified the root cause but due to the complexity of the required update, we expect an extended time to release an updated Dyn Updater Client solution. In the interim, we encourage users who would like to discuss available work-around and alternative host updater options to reach out to customer support.

Update - We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue.

Identified - Starting January 10, 2022, around 18:00 UTC, our engineering identified an issue affecting multiple Dyn services. Our Managed DNS customers began experiencing intermittent timeouts while updating hosts with API as well as failures accessing https://managed.dynect.net. Dyn Email Delivery customers may also be experiencing reporting delays.

Additionally, our Dyn Ecommerce service customers began seeing web failures attempting to access their services at https://account.dyn.com, as well as service failures updating their records via API or update client. Customer DNS Resolution is not impacted by this event.

Our Oracle Dyn engineers are actively working on the issue.
