Dyn Status Updates. Delivered.

Welcome to Dyn's status site. Here you will see upcoming maintenance and any incidents in progress. We pride ourselves on transparency.

Identified - On June 6 and June 7, 2016 we will be performing site maintenance at our Sydney datacenter. No impact to Dyn Managed DNS Nameserver or Peripheral Infrastructure is expected. Some customers in the region using Dyn Managed DNS, Dyn Standard DNS, or Dyn Remote Access may experience additional DNS query latency as traffic is routed to other sites. We do not recommend that customers make any configuration changes in preparation for this maintenance.

Customers with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to our Technical Support Team.

Investigating - On May 6th, 2016, customers using our China Network nameservers began to experience issues with latency. Our engineers are aware of the issue. Our transit provider is working on a resolution. We will post updates as they become available. We do not recommend that customers make any changes in their configuration in response to this event. This only affects our mainland China Network nameservers, not our global Anycast network.

Customers with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to our Technical Support Team.

Update - Our engineers have implemented further network and code improvements, reducing the number of HTTP 500, 502, and 504 responses from both Send API and reporting requests. Additional measures are being worked on and customers should continue to see a decrease in responses as a result. If you are continuing to see HTTP error responses, or timeouts in general, please reach out to our Technical Support Team.
May 2, 17:15 UTC
Update - Our engineers have adjusted system settings and code to improve request handling efficiency. This is intended to to prevent the large majority of HTTP 5xx error responses to REST API calls. Customers should see a decrease in error responses as a result. We are continuing to work on interim HTTP 500 responses for certain types of Send API requests and for report requests with invalid arguments. We expect those to be resolved in the next few days. If you are continuing to see HTTP error responses, or timeouts in general, please reach out to our Technical Support Team.
Apr 21, 19:50 UTC
Update - As of 15:00 UTC, our engineers are working to mitigate the issue.
Apr 14, 15:06 UTC
Identified - Beginning on April 11th, 2016, the Dyn Email Delivery Platform began experiencing intermittent performance degradation and API timeouts. Customers affected may notice delays in sending and timeouts when connecting to Dyn's send API. Our Engineers are currently investigating the issue and we will post updates as more information becomes available. We do not recommend that customers make any changes in response to this issue.

Update - As of January 22nd, 2016, our engineers have completed patching to the following services: Managed DNS, Standard, and Remote Access (Pro). At this time these services are all no longer vulnerable to logjam.
Jan 22, 15:04 UTC
Update - Our engineers have completed patching the Dyn Managed DNS API against Logjam. Customers wishing to use the API will have to adhere to "Intermediate" cipher standards noted on THIS webpage. API users not utilizing an intermediate cipher (or better) will not be able to connect.
Jun 30, 14:43 UTC
Update - Our engineers continue to work on protecting our environment against this vulnerability. At this time Dyn.com, account.dyn.com, members.dyndns.org, manage.dynect.net, dii.dyn.com and email.dynect.net are all logjam free.
